Reminders:
-
Before you have
applied for any scholarships to a college, you MUST apply for admissions
FIRST! Colleges will throw away any scholarship applications where the
applicant has not been admitted to the college. If you have not applied for
admissions you may do so on the college’s website or turn in an admissions
application with your scholarship application to me.
-
Make sure that
you read and understand what you are required to do for each specific
scholarship and school. Some scholarships require additional items that
others may not. Only completed applications should be turned in to me.
-
If you are
required to write an essay for a scholarship, make sure that you have an
English teacher proof-read your essay. I will not be proof-reading your
essays.
-
Don't forget to take the ACT if you're planning to apply for a scholarship.
-
Check on scholarship deadlines for colleges you're planning to attend.
Many scholarship deadlines are quickly approaching.
-
Don't wait until the last minute to ask a teacher/counselor, etc. to write a
letter of recommendation. Allow someone @ least 2 weeks in advance to
do this for you.
-
Use your 2 college days wisely! Make the most of your time while
visiting a college of interest. Don't forget to get your college day
approved by Ms. Meeder before you take your college day!
-
Obtain applications & apply to colleges of interest
-
have transcripts sent to colleges you're applying for. See Ms. Meeder
for this!
