Kelly Miller

I am so excited to be in the Media Center at Susan Moore High School!  I LOVE my job!!!!  I have always dreamed of being a Librarian and now I get to live out my dream EVERY DAY!!! My goal is for the Media Center to be a place students want to visit. Whether students need to check out a book, play a board game, print out supplies, conduct research or just hang out! The doors are open!! I love to read and enjoy sharing my passion for reading with our students at SMHS.

This is my 19th year at SMHS and 6th in the media center.  Before moving to the media center I taught math and science; including 7th grade math, 10th grade math, 8th grade science and 11th grade Chemistry.

In addition to being the media specialist at SMHS, I also serve as Prom Sponsor, Spelling Bee Sponsor, and a  Senior Sponsor.

I am a 1989 graduate of Hartselle High School located in Hartselle, Alabama.  I graduated from Athens State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree in 1997. I graduated in December of 2015 from the University of West Alabama with a master's degree in Library Media.

I moved to Blount County in 1997 after marrying my husband Jeff Miller. Jeff teaches science at SMHS and we have been married for 28 years.  Our lives have been blessed with two wonderful young men. Our oldest son, Brody graduated from SMHS in 2021 and is pursing a career as a Lineman and our youngest son Jackson is currently in the 10th grade at SMHS.
